The IDO dual flush WCs are among the most advanced water-saving WCs available in the UK. The Trevi E and the Mosaic have an integrated close-coupled cistern with a dual-action flush releasing either four litres of water for a full flush or two and a half litres to flush away urine only. There is also a wall hung pan with concealed cistern. The specific design of the bowl and the drop valve flushing mechanism make it possible for flushing to be effective with these ultra low volumes. By specifying an IDO Trevi E or Mosaic dual flush WC a family of 4 can save 52 m³ of water a year if replacing an existing 9-litre flush WC, or 26 mm³ if installed instead of a 6-litre flush WC. Installing these WCs in schools or offices will save up to 2.2 m³ of water per year per person.

The effectiveness of the four litre flush is dependent on a drop-valve flushing mechanism. Under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, these WCs can now be fitted in the UK. IDO WCs are now installed in all areas of the UK, in private homes and social housing, in community centres, schools and offices. The ultra low 4 litre and 2.5 litre flush volumes are factory set. Flushing performance is tested under the Nordtest method. This is the testing method used for WCs in Scandinavia. 110mm drainage pipework to be laid at a minimum gradient of 1:60 or 1:100. 150mm drainage to be laid at a minimum gradient of 1:60.
