Holzweg / Volvox Colourwash binder (wall varnish)

Holzweg Colourwash Binder is a water-based binder which, when mixed with earth and mineral pigments, creates various colourwash effects, such as ‘Lazuur’ on all internal walls and ceilings.  It can also be used without pigment as a clear ‘wall varnish’ over existing paint effects and emulsion/casein paints to increase washability and general surface protection. Being a cellulose and carnauba  based binder the product can also be used to impart a degree of wipability to some porous internal finishes e.g. clay plasters.

Containers: Samples available in 0.125 ml.  0.75 and 2.5 litre tins. 
Coverage: Depends upon how much it has been diluted, how ‘ thick’ it is applied and the absorbency of the surface. Between 20 and 45 m² per litre of undiluted product

Holzweg / Volvox Casein wall paint

Holzweg Casein Wall Paint is a traditional paint for all internal walls and ceilings.  It is suitable for use on some previously painted surfaces, wallpaper/lining paper, plaster, lime or earth render. It is especially suitable for use in traditional buildings.  The wall paint can also be used as a base coat for various special glazing techniques using Holzweg Pigments and Holzweg Colourwash Binder.

Containers: 4, 15, and 25 kilogram Kraft paper sacks with polyethylene inner sacks.

Holzweg / Volvox Silicate primer

Holzweg Silicate Primer, which is also known as water glass, is used to stabilise dusty interior and exterior mineral surfaces such as clay, brick, stone, cement renders, concrete etc prior to painting.  It is also used as a primer and thinner for Holzweg Masonry Mineral Paint and as a carrier of earth and mineral pigments when used to tint Holzweg Masonry Mineral Paint.

Holzweg Exterior Mineral Masonry Paint is a silicate-based paint that chemically bonds with the substrate producing long-lasting coatings. Tierrafino Clay Plaster is a textured, through-colour finishing plaster for use on interior walls and ceilings. It gives a comfortable and stylish internal finish which is warm in winter and cool in summer. Tierrafino Clay Plaster creates a ‘breathing’ surface which helps to improve air quality and combat indoor air pollution by absorbing fluctuations in temperature and humidity, sound and odour.Tierrafino Clay Plaster is suitable for use in areas of high humidity, (however the surface will be damaged if subjected to a stream of water and it should not be used on excessively wet walls). It is suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms so long as it is out of regular splash range.

Tierrafino Stone - Waterproof Shiny Lime-Based Plaster

Tierrafino Stone is a waterproof shiny lime-based plaster for interior and exterior use. Its strength and marble-like appearance make it ideal for bathrooms and wet-rooms, fireplaces, table-tops, stairways, pillars and other ornamental uses, even floors. This beautiful finish follows the traditional Moroccan "Tadelakt" process: the unfinished plaster coat is polished with a semi-precious stone, rubbing Tadelakt soap into the surface Tierrafino Soap is based on pure olive oil. This adds shine and waterproofs the surface. Tierrafino Stone may be applied to floors, but can be vulnerable to scratching. It should be used only in areas where traffic is barefoot or in soft shoes.

Single or multiple layer undercoat plaster for internal use. Hand or spray applied onto brickwork and other masonry substrates, also onto light earth construction, Claytec Reedboard, woodwool boards, and similar backgrounds. Can sometimes be used as base-coat for external wall renders.

Aquamarijn Prelin wood primer

Aquamarijn Prelin Wood Primer is an opaque, linseed oil based wood primer with excellent all round covering power, especially over joints, where it can be sanded creating a good join. Holzweg / Volvox Paint stripper

An alkaline based stripper for the removal of old coats of paint and varnish including oil, natural or alkyd resin paints. All alkaline paint strippers work only on coatings that are saponifiable (i.e. can be turned into a soap form). Thus other synthetic resin paints, such as epoxy resin paint, cannot be dissolved by this stripper. Therefore paint coatings should be tested for suitability and effectiveness in each individual case.

Volvox UV Protection Varnish and Primer is a system for the protection of all new and stripped exterior woodwork exposed to UV rays. Its semi-gloss finish emphasises the grain of the wood whilst allowing the timber to breathe. It may also be used internally on windows, doors, sills, etc. It is not suitable however for timber that is in direct contact with the ground.

Aquamarijn Revol floor & furniture oil

Aquamarijn Revol is a nourishing and protective oil for all interior wood, cork and stone. It can be used alone or as a priming oil under wax and varnish finishes. Aquamarijn Revol may be used in food preparation areas, such as on wooden chopping blocks. It is also suitable for children’s toys and furniture.

Containers: 200ml, 1 litre, 5 litre and 10 litre tins.
Coverage: Approximately 15 to 20 m² per litre depending on the absorbency of the surface.

Holzweg / Volvox Floor Oil

Holzweg Floor Oil is a quick drying oil & wax formulation especially designed to protect timber and cork flooring.

Containers: 0.75, 2.5, and 10 litre tins.
Coverage: 1 litre will cover about 20 - 25 m² on a smooth wood surface of average absorbency. However, coverage rates for floor oil can vary from 15 to 40 m²/l, this is a reflection of the differing absorbencies exhibited by different wood types, with softer woods generally requiring more oil. A useful attribute (that varnish does not have) as it is the softer woods that require more protection. Coverage is also reduced on roughly finished floors.

Holzweg / Volvox Paint stripper

An alkaline based stripper for the removal of old coats of paint and varnish including oil, natural or alkyd resin paints. All alkaline paint strippers work only on coatings that are saponifiable (i.e. can be turned into a soap form). Thus other synthetic resin paints, such as epoxy resin paint, cannot be dissolved by this stripper. Therefore paint coatings should be tested for suitability and effectiveness in each individual case.

Containers: 0.5, 2, 8 and 14 kilogram paper sacks with polyethylene inner sacks.
Coverage: 1 kilogram of Holzweg Paint Stripper is normally enough to strip about 1.5 m².

Holzweg / Volvox Natural latex flooring adhesive

Holzweg Floor Adhesive is a natural resin and latex adhesive for gluing cork tiles, linoleum and carpeting onto porous floor surfaces such as cement screed, hardboard or plaster floors or walls. Floor coverings should ideally have porous backing eg jute, and the screeds should have no finishes applied to them.This adhesive is not suitable for epoxy-resin screeds. It is best to use unsealed cork tiles, but if using pre-sealed tiles, lay them with the reverse, non-sealed side downwards.

Containers: 310 ml tubes for use in mastic guns. 2, 6, and 12 kilogram re-usable polyethylene buckets.
Coverage: 2.0 m² of average absorbent surface per kg of adhesive.
