Claytec reed mats are used as a base for plastering, particularly for lime, gypsum or clay plaster. The reed mats can be used in building refurbishment and restoration as well as new build, for example, in timber frame construction. They are an environmentally friendly material from a renewable source. Claytec reed mats can easily be cut using secateurs. The reeds are bound together with zinc coated wire. The mats can be held in place using dabs of plaster without further fastening, before the main application of plaster. Laid crosswise the matting can be used to provide a suitable level surface. |
• The mats and boards are suitable for interior use for ceilings, walls and roofs.
• They can be rendered using either clay, lime or gypsum plasters.
